True Margrit's signature piano-pop is whip smart, expertly crafted, and has more hooks than a pirate ship.  True Margrit's sound is fueled by singer/ songwriter/piano-player Margrit Eichler's husky-sweet alto, her adventuresome piano, and a secret weapon: the muscular, dynamic, turn-on-a-dime rhythm-section of Gary Hobish on bass and Andrew Bacon on drums.

Although reminiscent of Ben Folds, Fiona Apple, Elvis Costello, and Aimee Mann (with a touch of Dresden Dolls thrown in!), True Margrit's sound is all their own--a lyrical admixture of science, history, and personal narrative that explores the tension between what is catchy and what is complex.

Based in San Francisco, True Margrit has probably played near you (or will be playing at some point soon) in a solo or band jaunt from NYC to Seattle to Los Angeles or beyond in nightclubs, cafes, theatres, radio & television stations, or sailboats.
